are rooted in the spirit of environmental and social activism. Hailing from New York City, Russell’s eclectic musical pallet and song writing style was influenced by the vibrant, folk, Jazz, and world music scene of his youth on the east coast.
Establishing himself as a solo artist and band-leader on the northeast club circuit, he
relocated to the west coast in the late 80’s and formed the Roots Rock Band “Naked
Earth”(1989 – 1995), and the World Groove sextet “Wig Salad” (1999-2002). An
Ethnomusicologist at heart, his adventurous spirit has led him to live, travel and
perform throughout Central America, Africa and Europe. When he’s not out gigging,
Russell runs Eternal Groove Productions, providing Event and Audio Production
services based in Oakland, CA.
Stephen Vahle - A drum set player, latin percussionist and vocalist, Stephen plays
with various bands around the SF Bay Area. He gigs with his latin quartet, Buenas
Vibras and his soul-funk-jazz trio, Groove Tube and plays timbales with Orquesta

from the 30's and 40's for senior citizens. Steve has done work with recording
